How to Make a Delicious Cup of Coffee While Camping
There’s nothing like the smell of freshly brewed coffee on a crisp, cool morning. If you’re an avid camper, then you already know how satisfying it is to enjoy a cup of your favorite coffee while out in nature.
But did you know that camping can present some unique challenges when it comes to making a delicious cup of coffee?
In this blog post, we will cover three methods for making coffee while camping so that you can enjoy your favorite hot beverage no matter where you are.
The Cowboy Method
If you’re looking for a traditional way to make coffee while camping, then the Cowboy Method is the way to go.
This method requires a few basic supplies such as grounds, water, and a metal pot or tin can with lid. Simply fill the pot with water and bring it to boil over an open fire.
Once boiling, add your desired amount of ground beans and stir until dissolved. Let sit for about 5 minutes before pouring through a strainer into your mug or cup. Enjoy!
The Pour-Over Method
The Pour Over Method is great if you don’t have access to an open fire or stovetop. All you need is some paper filters (like those used for pour-over coffees at home), ground beans, and hot water from any source – even boiled water from another campfire will do!
Take one filter and fold it in half twice so that it looks like a cone shape with four layers of paper. Place the filter in your mug or cup and add your desired amount of ground beans into the filter.
Slowly pour hot water over top, pausing every 30 seconds or so until all the water has been added. Once finished, remove the filter with grounds and discard before enjoying your pour-over brew!
Cold Brew Method
If all else fails (or if you simply want something cold!), then there’s always the Cold Brew Method!
All you need is some coarsely ground beans (this will ensure that they don’t dissolve in cold water), cold filtered water, cheesecloth or nut milk bag (coffee filters work too), a container for soaking beans overnight, and mason jar/container with lid for storing cold brew concentrate overnight (optional).
Soak beans in a container overnight; once soaked strain liquid through cheesecloth/nut milk bag into a storage container; store overnight in the fridge; next morning mix concentrate with equal parts cold filtered water; enjoy!
Conclusion
Making delicious coffee while camping doesn’t have to be hard! With these three methods – The Cowboy Method, The Pour Over Method, and The Cold Brew Method – anyone can easily whip up their favorite cup of joe no matter where they are.
So grab your supplies and get brewing – happy camping!
