Lake Pleasant Regional park camping

Lake Pleasant regional park is not only a major outdoor recreational activity center for the Phoenix metro area but also serves as an essential freshwater reservoir for the rapidly growing population. Many boat docks and access to beaches make it a perfect lake pleasant camping destination. They are also a gateway to other popular recreational activities like sailing, jet skiing, scuba diving, windsurfing, and other water sports.

My family and I enjoyed our Lake Pleasant Camping Trip, But it could have been even more enjoyable if we had chosen a better campground. There are three significant campgrounds with 148 campsites in the lake pleasant regional park which can accommodate Tents and RVs (does not include primitive camping sites).

All campsites are divided into two categories Developed and Semi-Developed. Developed sites include water, electricity, a dump station, a covered Ramada, a BBQ grill, and a fire ring. In comparison, the Semi-Developed site doesn’t have water, electricity, and a dump station.

1)Roadrunner campground

  • Roadrunner campground has around 73 sites that can accommodate RVs and tents.
  • All campsites are Developed and have Electricity and Water hookups.
  • Max 6-8 people allowed per campsite.
  • Campground amenities include a picnic table, dump station, a covered Ramada, BBQ grill, and fire ring.
  • Coin-operated showers are available at the campground.
  • Visitors can enjoy the scenic sunset view; take part in water-based recreational activities, i.e., boating, swimming, Kayaking, Fishing, and more.

2)Desert Tortoise campground

  • Desert Tortoise campground has around 74 sites that can accommodate RVs and tents.
  • There are 25 Developed campsites, and Around 39 sites are Semi-Developed. Rest 10 campsites are for tent camping.
  • Developed sites have all amenities while Semi-Developed has no Electricity and Water hookups.
  • Max 6-8 people allowed per campsite.
  • Campground amenities include a picnic table, dump station, a covered Ramada, BBQ grill, and fire ring.

  • Groups can enjoy recreational activities, i.e., Hiking Trails, boating, swimming, Kayaking, Fishing, and more.
  • Lake pleasant camping reservations fees are based on the group’s size.

Lake Pleasant Shoreline camping

  • Depending on the Water level, Lake Pleasant also has shoreline camping during most of the year.
  • Availability would be based on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Lake pleasant shoreline camping is only permitted on designated areas for camping when available.
  • check-in Earlier than 2 pm and departure time is 12 pm (noon)

Lake Pleasant Boat-in Camping

  • Lake Pleasant Boat-in Camping is available at the 10 lane parking lot.
  • 30 assigned parking spaces have been designated for boat-in camping.
  • Each parking space can accommodate RVs and Trailers.
  • Availability would be based on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Boaters would not be allowed to do shoreline camping; they can only camp on the waters of Lake Pleasant.
  • This is an excellent option for people who love Fishing.
